Throwback Thursday Halloween Edition

Happy Halloween folks!
I hope you all enjoyed at least one piece of candy today. 
The weather here today has been superrrrr blahhhh. 
This kind of weather is so depressing and makes me want to sleep all day. 
Tonight I went to my parent's house to hand out candy. 
I would say we had maybe 35 trick-or-treaters. 
I just handed out handfuls of candy to each of them because I was cold and ready to go inside.

While I was at my parent's house I had every intention of finding old Halloween pictures.  
Well I looked in my room and couldn't find a single one. 
I didn't feel like searching through the endless sleeves of unmarked photos. 
I couldn't find any in albums so I said fugggg it.
Maybe next year I will spoil you guys with some Halloween gems from my childhood. 
Let me tell you I had the BIGGEST gap in my teeth. 
I was the epitome of awkward. 
Thank goodness for braces....I digress. 

So because I couldn't find any awkward photos from my childhood, I have some photos from my skinny days early college days (freshmen and sophomore year).
I will probably never show that much skin in a costume again how depressing

One last thing...
This afternoon at approximately 4:50 pm I turned in my final paper of the semester, meaning I'm DONE with my first semester of grad school.
THANK YOU BABY J....HOLLLLA.
I'm ready for a bit of a break from school. 
CHEERS to that and the fact that tomorrow is Friday even though I have to work on Saturday at 5:30am

So what if.....

  • I plan on eating some candy tomorrow...it's Halloween, so that makes it ok duhhh.
  • I'm really excited for new seasons of Vanderpump Rules and Real Housewives of Beverly Hills. I love me some reality TV, especially on Bravo. 
  • I don't know how I'm going to resist cranberry bliss bars when we get them in at work.  They are seriously DELICIOUS. It's definitely going to take some serious willpower to not eat my weight in them everyday. 

  • I'm asking for a Bump Nest pregnancy pillow for Christmas, even though I AM NOT PREGNANT...just to make that clear. I always sleep with a pillow between my legs and I'm a total blanket hog because I like having something in my arms. I think the Bump Nest is the perfect solution, it looks sooo comfortable. I can't wait to take it to bed that's what she said

  • I spent a small fortune on groceries this week. I have a love/hate relationship with grocery shopping. I love shopping and getting yummy things, but I HATE how much it all costs I'm a broke bitch. 
  • Procrastination is my middle name. I swear, I really do work better under pressure.

Throwback Tuesday...

Today I'm throwing it back to the Lions vs. Bears football game I went to a month ago that I failed to blog about because I suck
It was a day filled with fun, alcohol, and family. Does it get any better than that? 
The group of us that went included my parents, my boyfriend, my cousin and her husband, and a couple of other friends. 
The game was at 1:00, but we obviously went early to tailgate. 
Here is what the day consisted of:

Breakfast of champions - a cinnamon roll & beer

My mom - pardon the horrible wrinkles around my eyes  
Pretzel fun...I know, I'm so attractive. 

It rained for a little bit, but we didn't let it ruin our fun. We just huddled under a tent.

My cousin Emily & me. I seriously love her...we're the same person. 
This gem made it onto the big screen at the game. 

The Lions won 40-32. 
After the game, Aaron and I went back to my cousin's house and we watched This Is The End. 
I thought it was HILARIOUS, but I think you have to have a certain sense of humor to find it funny. 
I can see why some people who are not funny would think it was a weird movie. 
It was overall a great day and I was exhausted by the time we got home. 
The same group of us will be going to the Lions game on Thanksgiving. 
We've never gone to the Thanksgiving game before. 
It will be weird to not have Thanksgiving dinner like we usually do, but I'm sure the game will be TONS of fun.
What won't be so fun is working on Black Friday...womp womp.

Cleanse Results

I finished the Advocare 10 day cleanse last week. 
I lost a total of 6.6 pounds. 
I enjoyed the cleanse, but got bored with my food easily. 
Next time I will plan better and cook more frequently to avoid boredom. 
I had coffee almost every day on the cleanse, I couldn't give it up, sorry I'm not sorry.
I slept like a rock during the cleanse. 
I will definitely be doing this cleanse again. 
I'm thinking at the beginning of January, after all of the holidays are over. 
The thing I missed the most during the cleanse was cheese. I LOVE CHEESE.
Here are some of the things I ate during the cleanse:
Watermelon,  2 eggs, & spinach 
Steel cut oats with natural peanut butter & sauteed apples with cinnamon 
Chili
Baked curly sweet potato fries  
Baked sweet potato fries with chili.. I REALLY missed cheese on these 
Pork with sauteed apples and cinnamon with roasted broccoli and asparagus 

My weekend was pretty boring.
I had class Saturday morning.
Saturday night my boyfriend and I went to dinner with another couple. 
You better believe that I indulged in some alcohol, breadsticks, and pasta. 
Sunday was spent studying and having dinner at my parent's house. 
This is my last week of class until January...I'm so ready for a break. 
All I have left to complete are a test and a paper and I will be done with my first semester of grad school. WOOHOO!

Advocare Cleanse Day 1

I've survived the first day of the cleanse and it wasn't that bad. 
I didn't even have a hard time with the fiber drink, which I was nervous about.
I chugged it down in two gulps.
Now I'm nervous about the HUGE herbal cleanse tablets. 
The hardest part was timing my meals and snacks at work. 
I think timing will continue to be something I "struggle" with during this cleanse. 
Other than the timing thing, I felt pretty good. 
I was pretty tired, but I think that had more to do with the fact that I only got 5 hours of sleep last night. 
I have tomorrow off, so I get to sleep in! Woohoooo!
I weighed myself first thing this morning. 
Gahhh I can't believe I'm posting this for the whole world to see (if they wanted to).
I seriously feel semi-sick to my stomach posting this picture, but hey you have to start somewhere. 

Moving on to better pictures (i.e. food) here's what I ate today: 
  • Breakfast: 3 boiled egg whites, 1 cup of pineapple, & 1 cup of honey dew melon
  • Snack: Pistachios & 2 cups of mixed fruit
  • Lunch: Chicken with jalapenos, red peppers, & red onions & quinoa 

  • Dinner: Went out to eat with my parents and had 2 grilled shrimp skewers with double veggies (no butter) 
  • Snack: 2 tablespoons of natural peanut butter
I did awesome with my water intake today. 
I would guess that on average I drink around 100-128 ounces of water a day. 
Today I drank 192 ounces...gotta flush those toxins out!
My roommate is doing the cleanse as well and we took our measurements last night. 
I will post them at the end when we take them again. 
I'm dog sitting at my parent's house this weekend and I have to wake up at 3:45 for work on Friday kill me now
I will definitely be missing my coffee and I didn't buy any Spark. 
Do you know how hard it is to work at Starbucks and not be able to drink coffee?! It's pretty f*cking hard. 
Because I have to be up so early on Friday I won't be posting tomorrow. 
I will post a day 2 & 3 recap on Friday.

Advocare 10 Day Herbal Cleanse

I've been unmotivated for the last couple of weeks and my eating has sucked, at least I'm being honest
The scale hasn't moved since GYSTS ended; I'm just thankful it hasn't moved up. 
I knew I needed something to pull me out of my rut and get me back on track and then a miracle happened.
I was wasting time on Instagram and I saw that Holly posted a picture about the Advocare 10 Day Cleanse
Holly and Mel are starting the cleanse on Tuesday, October 15th and inviting anyone who wants to do the cleanse to join along. 
The timing is perfect. 
I've been playing around with the idea of doing the Advocare 10 Day Cleanse for a while, so I figured why not join them. 
My roommate will be doing it along with me, so that will be really nice to have each other for support. 

I ordered my cleanse from Ashleigh
My cleanse package might not arrive until Tuesday afternoon, so I will officially start on Wednesday.
I plan on weighing in and taking measurements before and after the cleanse. 
I think this is just what I need to get back in the right mindset and get motivated again. 
I did a different cleanse last spring. 
It was only 5 days long and I lost 6 pounds.
I had to fast for the first 2 days and drink the most disgusting drink I've ever tasted. 
Needless to say, I don't think I will ever do that cleanse again. 
I'm really excited to start the Advocare cleanse and get back on track.
I will be sure to document my experience each day on here.

Life After I Dew

So what if...


  • I haven't blogged in 2 weeks...life happens.
  • I only got 4 hours of sleep last night. 
  • Today at work I drank 6 shots of espresso and 90 ounces of water and had to pee every 5 minutes like I was pregnant. 
  • I didn't run last week and this week I'm doing C25K Week 3 again...at least I didn't say screw it and give up. 
  • I'm ready to pull my hair out after grading midterms. 
  • I don't like being alone at my house at night. 
  • I'm eating gummy bears as I write this post sometimes you just need some gummy bears in your life.
